our usual group was talking mornin bs. got a guy to break in which with us is great.
we are all in a 35 mile radius.
anyhow the guy was 110 miles away talking on gp 9 with 50 watts.
forgot to write his call sign down.then half hour later another spoke up KI5NWA,farmington arkansas 125 miles from me. we all had a great laid back talk.
i had to go to work, got in my pickup fired up my kenwood g 707 hooked to a hustler mx 1 centered in middle of cab mag mount and 5 miles from home i talked to KI5NWA full quieting.
maybe more this morning ?

I assume you're referring to 146.475. 2 meter FM simplex.

It can be amazing what Troposphereic ducting can provide on vhf/uhf. One thing to look forward to in the mornings and evenings during the hot summer months.

Check out the aprs map. This can give you a real time look at what "should" be happening.

Just now even farther away jeromy w5keb joneboro arkansas about 280 miles away
