your thoughts on the new RCI 2995.

I just got mine yesterday and i love it, well worth the $550.00 i paid. I'm really surprised how much power I'm seeing from it. 200 pep watts with out being clipped and snipped, my tech was surprised also! I just wanted to know if anyone else had one and what there thoughts were on it and also what is the best sounding mike to use with this radio. Currently running a hand held D-104 and i have had many good comments about the sound quality.

yep great radio. i use my d-104 on AM and my sure 526TII on SSB. although the 526TII soundds great on AM or SSB.

I like the way it sounds with my D-104 ( chicken choker mike ) but i picks up that damn fan noise and i don't like that.The hand held D-104 just barely does so that's what i have settled on.

oh ya my d-104 from grandad is like that aswell. i have to just barely crank it open about a 1/8 turn or less. all the way up on radio.

do yourself a favor and put a Shure 526T on that rig you wont regret it and others you talk to will also appreciate it I did numerous mic tests on that style radio and being a galaxy 2527 galaxy saturn turbo rci 2990 - 2995 and 2950 out of the mics i ran d1o4 turner sadelta and others they all said that shure 526T sounded the best as far as the fidelity and audio quality.

I prefer the RCI 2990 DX over the RCI 2995, but the RCI 2995 is also a great export radio.

As far as power mics. go, I would also recommend the D-104 or a Turner +2.

The RCI 2990 DX has more bells & whistles than the RCI 2995, and my 2990 out-performed my 2995 on both TX and RX.

KM, I used a turner +3, But I here a 575 sounds great on them to.

The D-104 is an excellent choice for the 2995.
