is the vr1 control just an additional rf gain control?

the vr1 pot in the cobra 29 and vr2 pot in the 25 is for rf gain if I'm correct, what is the difference in this vs the rf gain on the front panel? Should I just crank it all the way open and adjust with the rf gain knob or leave it backed off a bit like it was from the factory

Hey guys, I just bought a cheap cobra 25 off eBay to throw in my wife's car, I pulled the cover off just to see if it was ever messed with, looks like vr5 is wide open but the limiter is still intact, the slug on l10 is turned out about halfway, will that hurt anything? I've heard mixed things...

What dead key setting should I run my general lee at for running a fatboy 450 2 x 2879?

Does the jumper length affect the performance of the radio any on tx/rx.. I'm going to be using a fatboy 450- 2x2879 with my general lee and Wilson 1000 and need to use a 6 foot jumper between the amp and radio
