Has anyone tried cw mode to confirm this chassis has the same issue?
Just to see if it is indeed another "same radio" with a new case/face.

Yes, kind of hard to tell...it wasn't very noticeable. Stations sounded quite good for the most part.
Yeticom nz now has the new Lincoln II damn 415.00 plus shipping... I don't think so I will just keep my old Lincoln...
They can't even make the damn thing do 12 meters, shit that was one of the problems that the maker of the ChipSwitch tried to address was to get the original Lincoln to work on 12.
If they built a new board and left 12 out of the equation then screw it.
Already seems to have a front end overload problem and we still do not know if it has the same CW problem.
I got to agree with M42.
Kinda sad in a way, I expected more from them.

I know most owners couldn't care less about the CW option. I just want to know if the buffering issue is still present. If it is, then we know they didn't correct the issue. If they didn't correct that, then what else haven't they addressed.
I thought these units were beta tested. They probably are, but problems were either ignored or just not discovered. I tend to believe the almighty $$$ took precedent.
I bought the Grant II, because I actually like the 980. I know it's not worth what I paid, but at least, so far, it seems to work as advertised. I admit, I was tempted to just go ahead and buy a Lincoln, but the two vids showing overload blew it for me.
Shame it's all SMT, we would likely see component changes in the AGC circuit on CB Tricks by now. No service menu tweaks are gonna correct that issue.
I get a kick out of operating CW on rigs such as these. If they include that option, then it should work.

I wouldn't expect the powers within Balaruc to address the problems with the "Stinking II", How long did they know of the AGC problem with the Jackson and what did they do about it ????
I've had more requests to hear the receive but since I'm on the road you'll have to make do with smartphone video. Receive is through an external speaker mounted down below the radio. I still haven't noticed the strong signal issue to the extent of the UK videos, in fact if it is there it's barely noticeable in most cases. The receive overall just isn't as crisp/clear as the original Lincoln but still seems to work fine.

Interesting that as you moved the clarifier counter clockwise the audio of the clear station became distorted. It would've been better moving it clockwise more than it was for the other station that was the stronger of the two.
Kind of suggests to me that the "distorted audio problem" is people not tuning in a SSB signal properly and expecting everybody to be on the same frequency for a given dial position. Given what I've seen in the four UK 40 FM radios I got in this week there's no way that is going to be the case. One of them is 200Hz low, another was a 100Hz high and the others somewhere inbetween. None of them were on the same frequency, all of them drifted as they warmed up and whilst you'd get away with that on FM it'll sound terrible on SSB if you don't use the clarifier to match the RX on your radio to their TX.
