I've had this radio recapped and serviced and it's a beauty but it must go. I have alot of money tied up this so no low offers please. I'm negotiable some or possible trades but prefer cash through Paypal. The radio just was serviced and it still has a few issues, as I tell it like it is open about things. Couple bulbs are out now and it has a small carrier on sideband still but sounds good. It has a new switching power supply just been put in the radio. Output if fine nothing mind blowing but typical or normal. All knobs work and switches. I just have too many radios and this one I didn't care for preference wise. If I don't get some reasonable offers it will stay here. I'm located in USA so no international shipping on this BIG radio ! Will be packed good and will send either USPS or UPS ground.

Any serious inquirys with questions feel free to let me know please, Retro

I am going to mention now that I've been using this radio for the past day and mistakingly thought it has a small carrier on sideband, when in fact that is incorrect. What I discovered is that this radio tends to pick up background noise easily with a power mic and so that is not an issue, rather how you run the radio and what type of mic and your surroundings noise etc... Just wanted to clear that up, and so a couple bulbs out is all that is needed to be done. I just got the radio back from being servied so the bulbs must have taken a shit in transit to me or whatever, cos I had the meters both replaced with LED's so ironically one goes out and the USB light is out too. I want whoever who gets this to be in the know and I'm the same way prior to buying just pass on what info you know so we're clear and make your own decisions with that knowledge.

Thanks, Retro

Try turning the mic down .... and why is this considered rare... many were sold here in the USA.

This is alot more rare than say the Excalibur SSB and other versions is what I'm trying to say bro. They don't come up on eBay even for sale much. I do turn down the mic gain and that is the best solution. Bare in mind I've been into CB radios since the 70's, I'm not new to any of this, with all due respect brother.

Okay folks, I'm debating on a price point on this one though, but I've got alot tied up in this unit. In fact over $750 ! So with that said, I'll let some offers come in for now but I'm flexible depending on what you offer and possible trade thrown in...

Cheers :)

Yeah I think I'll wait for a reasonable offer but that's not to say I'm not negotiable. I'm probably gonna go with $400-500 I reckon and loose some of that money put in this radio. But it's gonna have the bulbs fixed likely soon, so then nothing really wrong with the radio in any major way etc, at this point pretty much... This radio has alot done to it to make it last longer for someone who would appriciate it ! A real beauty in person too.

Well the lights for the meter and USB is not fixed !!! So radio has no known issues anymore... In fact, I had Chris change out both LED's on the meters to match better too.

I will possibly upload a quick video of the radio and will show a pic soon of the new LED's in the radio.

Not gonna let this radio go for cheap because at this point it is better than new.

If you go to tools and look, there should be an edit button that you can go back and fix the "not" to NOW. I think most of us get it. But for the ones that don't, obviously they haven't read the entire thread, but just the one post. And it should become obvious anyways that you had it fixed as you state this. At any rate was going to say just saw one of these on sale on CL in the Jacksonville, FL area with a Tristar frequency counter for $75. Says it won't key up. Here is the ad. Wonder if it was worth messing with?? If anyone if near the area, and are looking for one, here ya go. I didn't call or look at it or anything, just thought I would share another that isn't as in good of shape as the one you have, but might be of use to someone. Anyways, yours is looking good Retro. Keep at it!!

And you have to edit the post pretty fast, can't go back after a minute or so I don't believe. Just tried, and all I see is report under "tools". I know I have edited from that menu before, but it's always been pretty quick. Anyways. Just some food for thought. Good day.

This Excalibur is NOT the same as mine bro ! That one is a Excalibur SSB and mine is the COLT Excalibur SSB so different insides and mine has better filtering RX...

Thanks for the info though too, Retro
