Finally the FCC steps into the real world and notifies you. Previous you had to wait until you show up on their database and check yourself.

Regarding the above post from tba02, unless you are currently a tech license holder, you can't transmit until you get your call sign on the database. If you already have your tech license and call sign, then yes you can transmit on the General class frequencies using the /AG suffix while waiting to get on the updated FCC database.

Not sure if that's what tba02 was implying.

You can also search your name on QRZ. com in about a week and when your name appears with your call sign, go to your call sign home page and click on detail tab and you'll see a link for your FCC record and that'll take you direct to the FCC database page for your call if you want to see this too.

Once your call sign appears on QRZ, your good to go.
