2950dxcd or 2970n2

I have a texas star 250hd just don't know if the 2950dx is to much for that radio..
It is a high drive amp so there shouldn't be an issue. My 2950DX cd goes down to 1 watt and peaks at 13 watt dead key. I can tell you later what the swing is. The set up you have is nice and should sound clean. The RCI have a real nice receive. Its all about the ground and SWR in the antenna

Undertaker, I'm running a N2 with a sweet 16 and have great results. SSB all over the world, mobile
Undertaker,
I have had the 1st version N2 for about 5 yrs now I guess, I run it barefoot (225 watts) and It works great. I used it to work St. Helena Island and Hong Kong this pass cycle and then it was put back on the shelf ready for another hard to get DXCC.

I really don't use it very much for my 90 watt 2970dx gets me into the EU and Russia with out much problem. But, if you are running beam, then you probably wouldn't need it.

Which one? I probably start with the N2 if for the base. Mobile - then 2950dx (cd ?)

Any pics as I’m looking for a big Amp to run with my rci 2950 DX

It's a Texas Star 350, very common amplifier. Just do a google search and you will see hundreds of pics. Most people would not consider an amplifier with two finals a "big amp" but it will work just fine with a 2950 if you run it right.

I have the N2 and it does very nicely 200w on AM, played with it and you can crank it up to about 300w but then you cant turn it down below 100w, also gets pretty hot if you do that.
For the difference in cost I think the N2 has a better cost per watt

It’s an Expensive not much difference if you Already had a 2950 dx and Added an Amp and I’m Guessing 200 Watt is sufficient you could talk All over the world .
