Machlett 3+500zg tubes

Looking at these for my Heathkit sb-220.. anyone have any reviews on these tubes? Are they comparable to the ones that rf-parts sell.
The price is very nice too.

Didn't RF Parts stop selling them a few years ago?

They can be found on flea bay and the K5SVC web store... one year warrantee

Frank is the real McCoy. The Machlett tubes are RF tested, not just DC-voltage tested.

His tubes would be my first choice.

RF Parts is always good to go. I recommend the brand with the longest warranty.

Think about it. That's the tube that the seller trusts the most.

Avoid "white-box" tubes, especially from Greenstone. Every customer who brings those to us ends up disappointed.

The penta brand cost a little more I wonder if they are better than the Machlett brand all coming out from the same company

Penta is now just a brand name printed on a chinese-made product. I don't see any advantage to that brand, regardless of price. The care with which the tube's final processing and testing are done are what separate the cheap "poof" tubes from the good ones.

Just ordered me a pair of matched 3 - 500zg machlett tubes from Penta Laboratories in California they had them on sale could not pass up the price. this should give my sb220 more get up and go now...

So how do they perform compared to their predecessors? Have you completed the Harbach mods? New fan?

Hello David everything going good here with the sb-220 added new capacitors from harbach and the new metering board ...had to order the new parasitic suppressors from France will be here to end October to November 6.. very happy with the wattage out now can not indulge on the number because everyone here will...well I won't go there.. the parasitic suppressors are still good but i wanted the new one being 30 years old outdated I wanted the new Nichrome wire ones. Waiting to put the new fan in when the parasitic suppressors get here
