By this what I mean is. . . . . I am just re_entering the ham radio hobby after being away from it for some 22 + yrs, but I must have unintentionally posted in the wrong area? Since I haven't gotten a reply, for what I thought was a simple question?. . . . . So I can't help but wonder??? Have things in the ARRL still the same I.E obviously very tight connections (viciously political & in control of everything, by a small tyrannical group of old FARTS & they were at the very least "Control Freaks" that almost destroyed the hobby at that time. I remember the unbelievable fights at the ARRL meetings. Now I remember how we lost the 220 band to the company "UNITED PARCEL SERVICE" As per the FCC: "THE HAM RADIO HOBBY HAS NO NEED FOR THE 220 BANDWIDTH" the ARRL has informed THE FCC operations division which of course these issues were pointed directly at the head of ARRL. The old farts! That used to stick out their chests and were chronically heard to say "IF I HAD TO TAKE AND PASS MORSE CODE WHY SHOULD THEY BE GIVEN A PASS, referring to hundreds of thousands of people that were waiting for this change, with every intention of becoming "A HAM RADIO TECHNICIAN" This was exactly my reason for leaving the hobby & was directly due to the in control of the hobby (which is why I left the hobby) At that time I was in my early 20's and I was passionately overwhelmed with Ham Radio!. . . . . . . I MUST APOLOGIZE AS MY WIFE OVERHEARD ME USING DEROGATORY REMARKS ABOUT MOST OF THESE MEN WHO ARE LIKELY CROSSED OVER BY NOW, I AM A VERY RELIGIOUS PERSON, AND I FEEL IT WAS UNJUSTIFIED FOR ME TO USE SUCH LANGUAGE AND I FIND IT MOST REGRETTABLE. PERHAPS I AM TOO OLD TO TRY TO RETURN TO THE HOBBY AT MY AGE, THANK YOU FOR PUTTING UP WITH THE RAMBLINGS OF AN OLD MAN With warmest regards, Dr. Thomas Contartesi F.A.C.C.
P.S. I say this to all: please don't tell me that I shouldn't use caps, because it's the same as screaming!! I vehemently dislike political correctness, which includes a written text, God Bless.

Welcome, its never too late to return to the hobby.

Yeah yeah we heard it all before.(Humor) I did not get my ham ticket until I was 60 years old and then one year later I got my extra class. Dude don't let age be your cage. I got bitten by the radio gear bug and spent a small fortune on radio gear.
It is only bad to trash talk the dead if you are lying about them.

Mixed views abound everywhere. I have my views and I let others have theirs. I may change my views. Others may change theirs. Nothing will change my love for all things electrical unless they bring back the chair.

His writing style seems familiar. He always ended a post the same way.

I have no idea who you’re talking about but you just hand over some of them goodies you’ve stock piled old man...

And yeah, what question is he referring to, I’ve seen no other question... I didn’t wait for the code to fall out, I just ended up in ham radio and don’t really remember why. Then I decided one day I wanted my general class and went and got it.

I’m still waiting on them goodies.

And you will be waiting, and waiting, and waiting some more. If I own some thing that you want there is a negotiation process we can enter into. Even my son knows he only gets my gear if he is properly licensed. No tickey no laundry. He also knows that he will have to contribute some funds to the estate. When I inherited my old man's farm he wanted it and thought I would just give it to him. While he the best person I know under the age of 45, that and six dollars will get you the coffee of your choice at Starbucks.
I do have some desirable test equipment that will be up for grabs but shipping is not included.

I was just being funny. Let’s dont talk about estate sales and the reasons why. I was thinking of Ricky Bobby’s kids when I said that, in my mind the reference would be gotten.

I don't know the reference about Ricky Bobby, anyway I was just being a smart ass.
I have had too many kinfolk coming around with their hands out looking for money, property deeds, mineral rights, and account numbers and so on. They always say,"Don't you remember how close we were as kids?" Yeah buddy I remember your ass from way back!

Those kids would make a viable case for retroactive abortion. My parents would have killed us in our sleep if we had acted like that and buried us in a trash can. Hell they probably would not have wait for us to go to sleep.
