I'm looking to put a Dipole antenna in my attic but of course when I built the house I chose to get the plywood with the foiled back to help with the summer heat here in Louisiana... Has anyone here dealt with this scenario yet?

I have an HOA so no towers allowed.

If you have a wooden fence in your backyard it will work . I worked Bosnia on 20 meters at 100 watts with my dipole 5 feet off the ground mounted on my wood fence . I'm in Ontario Canada .

Shade , I use my gutters & spouts as & antenna for my SW , works well . 11m ? Jury is still out on that ? Guess it would work but for now I'll stick w/ my low $ A-99 .I don't think my gutters could handle the watts .:ROFLMAO:

Leo...try the gutters on 11m and let us know but be careful. Good chance when The Beast Of The East cranks up the 2000 the rivets will blow right out of those gutters!

Try that attic dipole SuperDave. Might work great even with the foil-backed plywood.

If it’s like the one in my shop, it won’t cause any issue cause it’s worthless, I don’t believe it helps with heat. It probably does nothing for the heat but definitely will cause issues with radio, my luck.

I thought I was the only one that bought into that, guess I’m not alone.

I see this type of ? Quite often... any trees close? Run coax underground to tree and then up tree and use a vertical mounted wire dipole. Not an option? What about a dipole on the end of house along the roofline in a inverted v? Or 1 I used at a rental home ....find 2 high points of your roof “ I used a vent pipe and the chimney “ I used 75 lbs clear fishing line to tie one end of wire dipole to chimney and the other end to the vent pipe about 3-4” above roof! Couldn’t be seen from ground and worked great but was directional. Put up a homemade pvc plastic flagpole and make it at least 20’ tall and hide a A-99 inside it! Be creative and you will find a way!
