Thought it might be best to start another thread separate from the 11 meter thread.

We’ve discussed three (maybe more) freqs for WWDX liaisons:

(1) 27.425LSB
(2) 27.405LSB
(3) 27.155LSB

If we use the thread to coordinate when we’re active we can probably have some success.

Anyway, that’s what I’ll be planning...update the thread where I’ll be listening, and will plan to run the recorder in the future.

Please feel free to join in!

Whenever I get a. Hance to key the mic as conditions permit, I always use my RT #s. Helps if there are other RT members sandbaggin and of course any forum members are listening.

Great idea but like said in the other thread it makes it hard for the Op's that can't go above 40 . That's why I " Try " & call on 38 LSB & QSY to another frequency . But whatever works I'm in . That's why as of late Iv'e been using my "WDX" #'s to shake loose some forum members .:) 73 & God Bless . Leo

As I called yesterday, “CQ WWDX members”, I quickly realized that no matter the freq, anyone who heard me would respond, or even follow me....and when there were conditions people were everywhere. Then as it started to die down and I was hoping for some long range conditions to South America, some guy was whistling into his mic for 45 minutes on 27.555 USB hitting me at a 5/9+, because THAT'S a good freq for on the air testing! LOL.

It is what it is, and all we can do is try. It's always cool to talk to a forum member.

I like .425 when I'm driving car A, but not if I'm in car B which just has a PC-122. As 357 said, it would keep anyone with a stock CB from talking with other members. An alternate suggestion might be using 27.375 as the calling freq. and after contact is made they can move to .425 (or elsewhere) if able.

But .425 would work fine with me (most of the time) :D

Thought 19 AM was correct chl to whistle into for that

dled ,if we find a channel that we can agree on , I'm all in . Our Ham , members in the chat section have a freq. they use daily . I know I chat w/them most of them talk daily ( on chat ) , unfortunately because I'm 11m I can't join them . Right now @ 65 I have enough on my plate to test & join them , Happy where I'm at !:) But the way I figure ( I don't think it's illegal ) using my WWDX #'s lets the forum members it's one of their own . I belong to a lot of 11m clubs & I'm mostly proud to be a member of this one . I think most members should use their WWDX #'s ( Contest or Not ) to promote the forum . Them again I've been wrong before ! jmo 73 & God Bless , Leo

I think your idea of using the WDX prefix regularly to promote the forum is good. Especially with the good operating habits I’ve seen from the forum members that I have talked to and/or heard on the air.

My numbers aren’t “legit” yet...but I have messaged binrat and asked to be officially dubbed “WDX995”. I am sure this isn’t a priority with no current contest, so I will wait patiently for blessing and do things right.

As soon as I find time to get this new radio and power supply hooked up safely and correctly I'll be holler'n.......CQ, CQ, CQ.......This is U812. Maybe add some in there for WWDX. Not sure what blessings are required, but in my field of work, silence is permission, and ask forgiveness later.

Honestly you can't make the club frequency above or below the regular 11meter channels. The club should not promote illegal activity

The forum is chock full of posts about radios and amplifiers that don’t align very well with the FCCs visions for the 11 meter band, and with very little discouragement. Actually the opposite; most all members are more than willing to assist others without troubleshooting, converting, or installing anything someone wants to run.

Well yeah........ But that one channel is for experimental and educational purposes only?

Anyone who believes that we’re all running 40 channel 12 watt radios is blissfully ignorant.

It doesn’t matter, anyway, this wasn’t the designation of a “club frequency”, as referenced above. It what merely a matter of noting what 3-4 of us had discussed. None of us seems inclined to make a decision for the entire club.

The idea of the post can be summarized like this, ”If the DX is rolling and you hope to chat with other forum members, post here so we know you’re active”.

Anyway, now that my enthusiasm is throughly sucked from my soul, I’m going to fire up my highly illegal transceiver and amplifier, and call
“CQ CQ” repeatedly outside the normal 40.

That is different then outright snubbing our nose at the regs. If we outright did that then this forum is just like many others.
Also not all members can reach that frequency, and google tells me that its already an official unofficial preppers shtf calling frequency.
