Hello I have a dx2547 would like to know if anyone had great results using the Max-Mod. Thinking of installing one my self . Thanks

Don't waste your time on it, especially on something like a 2547, that's only a single final radio... there's absolutely nothing to be gained from it. There won't be an output increase, and it won't run any cooler, as you're only modulating a single final at the final stage, instead of a pair of finals.

If it's running hot add more heatsink to the stock regulator. I used to put heatsinks on uniden grants and cobra 148s. I like to talk a lot and this kept the part much cooler.

So your saying it's not made for radios with only.1 final and am only?

It will work, it's just that there isn't anything to gain from installing it. It'll perform exactly the same as the stock 2SB827 regulator.

we tend to fit tip36c this side the pond just due to them in stock everywhere and they rated for 25 amp constant,and as its been said the stock reg 2sb827 wont be anywhere near its limits on a single final radio so no point

If you can fit it in there, there's no one to stop you from doing so...
But if you need to cut, bend - trim - or SPINDLE to make it fit - then it does NOT belong there...
