Microphones are a matter of personal preference. I happen to like the Zetagi and the sound it produces with MY voice. No, you cannot lean back in your chair, with your mouth 3 feet from the microphone and expect this on to pick it up, unlike my D104 desk mic. The D104 also picks up every other noise in the room as well, unless you turn it down, which I have done. It's about preference. I like to set at my desk, pencil in hand, mic about 12 to 18 inches away and speak in a very normal voice and have a nice qso with the person on the other end. I' don't raise my voice as if you were in the far end of my house. As for sound quality, I trust the numerous, unsolicited comments I receive from friends and others I qso with on dx, especially with the Zetagi!! I will say, It took some time to get the correct setting and distance on both the Zetagi and D104, but once I did, it was all good.. And again, I'm not a screamer. I've been told, over and over, the D104 doesn't have the rich tone like the Zetagi does. I keep the tone on it set at 1, gain on the mic 8 and speak in a very normal voice, 15 inches away, give or take. (With the Q5N2 I have the mic set to dynamic)
Just remember this is personal choice, and all this, is just MY experience and nothing more.
EDIT... I love how some of these "technicians" easily convince people that what they have is garbage and send it in for the "god mods" which end up being three times what a perfectly good radio costs. They are definitely great salesman and pray on our insecurities. We never seem to be happy with what we have.

Anytone Q5N2 vox question???
Can't seem to get mine working. I've turned it on in menu and played with both sensitivity and delay settings (menu #16 &17), but cant get it working. Anyone else have issues or suggestions?

Sorry, brother. Can't help with this. I don't believe I have ever used this function, on any equipped radio. But I'm sure you'll get an answer soon. There are lots of very knowledgeable people on this site. Good luck!

Does the radio have a VOX input on the back of the radio? It seems to me that the stock hand mic has the audio wire from the element going through the ptt switch. If this is the case, the radio will never hear you unless the mic is keyed.
The audio does not need to be switched though, usually when I get a scratchy ptt, I will move the wire so that they are always connected. The ptt wire that puts the radio in tx works to key the transmitter as normal. Maybe if you connected the audio wire across the switch, it would work.
No vox jack on back. I just assumed with turning it on in menu, and using stock mic as is, it would work. Its advertised as having vox and its certainly got 2 settings in its menu. Not sure whats up with getting it to work.

It keys with no voice. I tried adjusting both menu settings, but nothing seems to work
New here and I just got the Q5N2 for Christmas. Took two 5/8 wave for foot Firestick antennas and configured them as a flat side dipole about 20 feet in the air. I guess you would call that a 1.25 wave length dipole. I couldn’t be happier, it’s performing better than I could expect it. Great radio and I have to thank everybody that has contributed to this thread with the information that helped me make my choice. 73’s.

I read your vox question up above and I'd never messed with it so had to go look for myself. I didn't mess with it too long but I couldn't get mine to key up with my voice. I'll dig out the stock mic and see if that makes a difference, but what will really answer us both is looking at the book. We're not doing something right. I must confess, I spent little time reading the manual so will definitely do that now.
What is it with me not reading a manual.....
Manual? Is that what you call the little booklet you throw back into the box?
