Gather ye radios while ye may

Yeah was pretty painless, the guy asked if I was selling them or for myself, told him for me and sent me a link for payment this morning. They are selling for $199US cost me $260us shipped to Canada. See how it works out.
I just ordered one, $199+$48 shipping. Ken Xu said that the first batch was sold out, and they are "modifying it and upgrading it" so I will get a better version. He said that the front panel might be slightly different too. I hope it still looks the same......

Ken just updated it will be shipped by the end of March, face indeed is going to be different. I am very excited for this radio to arrive.

I'm casting about on various rigs... will definitely buy a 6666/2 when they hit.
Still looking for an unmolested Sears Road talker SSB 7100A. And whatever else catches my fancy in the meantime.
(Wife is eyeing me dangerously...)

That's the way it is sometimes. Maybe someone you know might be in that area? Seems like there's some long haul members on the forum that may be helpful. It's a long wa from me as well.

Unless I can put my hands on it or it's a forum member here, where we each have some accountability, I won't risk that level of money on a what if. I do have to answer to "The Boss" aka wifey if I vaporized 200-300 bucks and nothing good for it lol. It's disappointing when things don't work out but I've been watching for a long time I can wait a little longer to get exactly what I want. At least this means there's still some out there in the wild!

Just another FYI - I'm seeing Chinese manufacturers quoting 10-25% higher for products in the last couple of months and shipping costs have skyrocketed - containers are costing 50% more to get them across the pond.

What does this mean? Inflation on consumer products is not going to slow down anytime soon. I expect with shortages and these costs in China going up that many consumer products could see price increases of 25% or more in the next year.

Since just about everything comes from China - costs on everything will continue to rise.

So if you've been eyeing a particular new radio or accessory, I'd pull the trigger sooner rather than later. I know I picked up three things I've been wanting for a while and now I'm set.

Inflation is here for at least the next 6-12 months regardless of what you read in the news.
Thank goodness our chickens are not from China yet
