Anyone know about instructions for the MD-1 mentioned for the radio in my subject? I see there are instructions on the topgun site but not specifically for that radio. I'd like to get a clean wave form over 100%.

Nothing like details about what it does and how it does it or why anyone likes it or does not like.
When you try to research Top Gun MD-1 or CP-1 all you get is "Top Gun Good" or "Top Gun Bad".....
You can find 300 pages on NPC mod of a Cobra 29 but can not even get a paragraph on either of these Top Gun products.
The offical web sites descriptions is terrible and the best you find is just that marketing nonsense cut and pasted onto other sites.

A strong wind blows out non-rf mosfets. SWR of 1.5 and pop! Mosfet finals not designed specificly for RF are garbage and have been garbage since day one. Sure they make power especialy PEP power and they make money for those that do the mod but that is about the best that can be said for them. Rember that gag int he 1980's where you put poop in a brown paper bag, light the bag on fire, rang doorbell and ran like mad???? That is what non-rf fet's pushed into RF work are.
