I could be wrong but I thought these solar cycle were 7 years long and it seemed like this one only started 2-3 years ago so we should have some time to play yet.
The solar cycles peak every 11 years....... so 5 1/2 years between bottom and top. This cycle got into gear around 2023, and we are now about 2.5 years in, so near the top of the cycle or just past it.
So another 2 years, maybe a little more, of potentially very good conditions, then a
couple or three more years after that of so-so conditions before the next ice age kicks in 5 years from now......

Yes I know it wasn't too long ago I had 2 antennas in the air trying to see which worked best for me and DX was very spotty. I had my Starduster up and a Super Penetrator and both had good SWR. Now would be a better comparison time but figured I couldn't keep them both up and the Star Duster on the tip-over mount won out. The story of my life ( A Day Late & A Dollar Short ) LOL But I can't help but wonder how that Penetrator would be performing now ????? LOL

A full cycle is about 11 years. It is a bit lopsided however. Generally it takes a bit longer to go from a peak to a low than it does to go from a low to a peak.
Thanks ! there is nothing I like more than gaining knowledge. I never was much of a talker, I'd rather be learning something new. I have to laugh because I tried to get a old girlfriend back involved in radio and he told me she wasn't that friendly. She knew my answer before I finished saying it. I told her I wasn't that friendly either but I do it for the and she said Challenge ! LOL She's pretty smart. I guess that is why she was a Doctor of Psychology. LOL

Yes Sir, that sucks! Sorry to hear this.
And the hobby isn't going to get any cheaper!
Just to let you know the Fever got a hold of me again and wouldn't let go. I got a hold of Truck's CB Sales and ordered me a new magnetic base or my Sirio Performer antenna that got murdered by a low flying tree limb but had to order me a longer coax so it cost a little more. I Just Couldn't Help Myself ! LOL

Screenshot_20250601-074127.pngGood morning all, just had my first cup of coffee and thought I would see how conditions are shaping up on 11 meters for today,as you can see Not Good, I believe I read somewhere that Earth is supposed to be hit with a G4 solar flare this afternoon and late Sunday night, not looking good for Dxing, however I might try to be on around 2pm today on 37 LSB and see what happens, I'll also be on this upcoming week off and on as I start my vacation, looking forward to getting things done around the house and spending time with my Dad,you can find me usually on 37 LSB, hope everyone has a great Sunday ahead!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info and it has been crap around here lately but it is back to the garage to work on the car again for more fine tuning. If you can post a link to the site you go to check conditions. Seems like I should have that link bookmarked on my computer also. Thanks hope you have a successful day. PS they are saying we are suppose to have a hotter than average summer. LOL Hope it gets here soon, I was working on my gas heater this morning.
