Only applies to a stable amplifier. And that's my main gripe about Maco's built-in driver stages. They oscillate and spew all manner of frequencies the radio has no idea about. Grounding the shield of the output coax and placing a Faraday shield between the driver and final tubes up topside goes a long way even if you don't take it any further than that.

I’ve started doing that on every Maco I have since you told me about that 8 yrs or so ago. Glad I saw this reply, reminded me I have to order some cobra 1000 variables..
