    New Connex Radios

I think I will give it a try. The radio is very loud and I do like it overall however, I know I can do better than what I am getting out of that echo board.

    New Connex Radios

Thanks. I suspected so since I cannot seem to get that "classic" Connex sound. I may have to make some adjustments or consider changing out the echo board.

Antron 99 - working it flatside in the attic?

Just my experience. I have run a Double Bazooka dipole in my attic for quite some time with good results. I recently replaced it with an Imax 2000 and it seems to do a bit better. Both worked well. A compromise for being indoors I am sure but it got the job done for sure. When the weather...

    New Connex Radios

Does anyone know if the newer Connex radios all have the same echo board (see prior post regarding the Connex 4300-300). I was under the impression that only the 4300-300 had the new echo board (inferior?). I have a newer 3300 HP. I would like to know if it has the same echo board as the old...

    connex 4300-300

A few locals around here have this new radio. As I understand it they do not have the same echo board as the other models (made by Ranger). The locals here had their echo boards changed to the Ranger boards and they do sound better in my opinion.

    Which Noise Canceling Microphone?

I have now had a chance to try them all (636L, RK56, and the new SkyThumper ST-65DX). They are all great micophones! For my radio the 636L wins out. It sounds the best and I can run the mic gain a bit higher. This radio has so much darn audio that even the 636L sounds a bit loud......

    Which Noise Canceling Microphone?

Re: swing You are correct. In addition to turning down the mic gain it seems to help if I do not talk too close to the mic.

    Which Noise Canceling Microphone?

KM, for some reason this radio was set up with a lower DK for both high and low to match up with an amp. Little chance for having it on high by mistake I guess. I can always have it changed if necessary, but I seem to do well with it on high (less swing) and keeping the mic gain to no more...

    Which Noise Canceling Microphone?

KM, thanks for the input. You are correct. It does sound better on high power (DK=41/2 watts). I will try the 636L to see how that compares to the others I have tried. While the RK56 is a great mic it may be a little deep and provide too much swing for this particular radio (monster).

    Which Noise Canceling Microphone?

I have a newer Connex 3300HP with the mosfets. This radio is an absolute audio monster! I am having quite a challenge getting it to sound clear. The stock mic still picks up too much background noise so I am looking at the noise canceling microphones. I have tried a RK-56 and it helps but I...

What is the loudest export radio?

I think I will cast my vote for the new "Supercharged" Connex 3300HP with mosfets. I just received one to test out and it sure is loud!

Can you eleborate - Good radio bad tech? I am seriously considering one of these radios - not the type of thing I was hoping to hear. Thanks...

What is the loudest export radio?

How about Stryker, Magnum, Northpoint or the Galaxy 45MP? Those all seemed louder to me than the Connex/general radios.

    Cobra 200

Same here. I have had my Cobra 200 for six months and have had no problems so far....
