Might look for an OAR handheld receiver. Newer ones are big $ but older used ones can be found at more reasonable prices. Some models do receive all mode.

I plan to play this weekend for June VHF. Its the only contest I take somewhat seriously. 6-1296 is my bag so I set aside one weekend a year to really play. I run in the analog only low power class. Hopefully conditions on 6 open up and stay that way. That will dramatically increase my score...
