Operating CRT Oscilloscope from Gasoline Generator

Am glad to hear it works! Was walking around a flea market and spotted a isolation transformer just like the one I used on the submarine. Which was specified in almost all the test equipment setups for aligning my SINS.

Nasty static showing up all over town...anyone else?

Dead quiet in FN20, southeastern PA between Allentown and Reading. I do have the occasional burst of static from loose connections at the pole, or dirty insulators. Usually during high winds.

    Oscilloscope ?

I have a Siglent 'scope. Not that exact model - but it is a pretty good piece of test equipment, especially as I don't have Agilent money! I used YouTube to look thru lots of reviews before buying. Ray

New CB Base Station Set Up

William, Tune to Channel 13 Wednesdays for Classic Radio Roundup. About 8PM or so. You should be able to hear the troops running a variety of radios, many tube type. Cheers! Ray - Boyertown.

Some say CB is dead, i say nay...

Yes, but he's Part Time. Plenty of full time hammerheads on up here in SE PA! And I'm back quiet. Bye, bye, bye.... Ray

    EF Johnson CB Radios

Funny you should ask. I have a Johnson 40 channel radio sitting next to a Royce 23 Ch radio on the bench now. The Royce sounds just as good (RX) in every way, EXCEPT adjacent channel rejection. The Johnson is much better. Audio clarity on transmit? Good question, only my peeps on Channel...

    Cobra 29 LTD

That diagram posted by NZ8N, above, shows an electrolytic capacitor symbol for C68. You removed a electrolytic. I'd put a electrolytic back in there. <point> 1 microfarads. .1 Would that circuit be happy with 1 microfarad? You'll be the first to know. The 29 BOM does mention a Mylar...
