I reckon you must learn a bit more before making statements like that. You are so wrong!
My Anytone 6666 Pro has a USB port and I use it for radio programming. Many other such as some of the Stryker models have them too. None of these are capable of CAT control out of the box.
Notice the USB...
I looked up this radio and I see no data port which typically are USB ports. I can't see how this radio (or any current CB/export radio) can ever be modified to have CAT control.
Here is a pic of the back and front of the radio from the manufactures website.
According to the manual, what...
Welcome to the forum!
Interesting concept to try to interface that radio for both CAT control and a pan adapter.
I don't know about that radio but I do know many of the export CB radio's like that only use the USB port for radio menu settings to be set via computer. Also firmware updates can...
Looking at you pic again, it seems the rubber hose washer would act like a rain shield and let water drip away from the connection point which should work fine for that.
To add to your idea, I think putting a couple more washers on the threads so the connector will bottom out all the washers...
Yes, good stuff for coax connector sealing.
In case you didn't know and for others reading, this is the same as Rescue Tape just the Permatex brand. The Rescue Tape brand is sold at Tru-Value and likely other hardware stores like Ace etc. Rescue tape is also sold in different colors which I...
Interesting idea.
I use rescue tape. It is self vulcanizing and easy to remove with no residue. However it would be difficult to use with an L-bracket but it works great if the connector is more exposed like in this pic.
Not a lot of info to resolve your problem but I will give some suggestions.
If you only see 1 call in the waterfall then you maybe in Fox/Hound mode and that 1 station is the Fox station calling. In this mode, you and everyone else are calling on opposite cycles of the Fox station so you won't...
True with large antennas and I mentioned in my post that if a large metal antenna is being considered, look at stake mounts or other options. I wouldn't put anything like that on the roof and that's why I only recommended NMO mounts for fiberglass whips which can absorb much of the shock and...
The best way is to not be afraid and drill a hole and use a clean installation looking NMO mount with CB stud adapter. These are fine for fiberglass whips or loaded coil antennas like the Wilson 2000. If you sell the truck, there are NMO caps so not to leave an exposed hole.
If you are using...
Friend of mine sent me that same ad yesterday, I knew right away it was a fake especially being April 1st.
Back when hobby and other magazines were popular, some editiors would post fake ads or fake stories in their April editions.
This is nothing new and all in the spirit of April fools so...
Most cases it's too much radio drive with that one amp. Back off the RF power on the radio with the amp that back swings and see if that doesn't fix it.
One thing I forgot to mention about the above advice I posted is that isn't really a fix for an impedance input mismatch but rather a way to mask the problem so your radio sees a better SWR.
Yes, clean the connectors for a better electrical connection but I doubt that's causing the problem.
I'm not an expert on these amps but it has been well known that many amplifiers built for CB use do not have tuned 50 ohm inputs which can make the SWR read much higher than a 52 ohm 1.1 match...
