    beam direction

I'm hearing a lot of Asia and Russian skip on 27.555, well I hear others talking to them. I did actually hear japan from the mobile the other day... but I was unable to return the dx call. To many jumped him... My question is, which way do I need to point the beam, north over the poles, or...

    M103c swr across 11 meters

Just fyi, if you have a true cb'er close to you, go horizontal! I have one, tunes up his 2kw amp..... every twenty minutes! I could cut him down to 1 by turning the back corner to him. Eliminating his bleeding me. I can't do near as good vertically, but I can knock him down enough to hear my...

    M103c swr across 11 meters

So, got them hung, 30ft or so up. Tried horizontal, but couldn't talk to a friend in his car, 10 miles up the road. (Skip was awesome though!) Changed them to vertical, had him +9 over 20 miles away! Now for what we've all been waiting for! Vertically with gamma match to the bottom, 2.5 swr...

    M103c swr across 11 meters

I can hit Louisville on a good night. But you'd be a heck of a trip! Get some beams, horizontal, we could give it a shot! I've not got mine in the air yet. Freaking turned cold again! I hope to tomorrow.

Using a small satellite dish as an 11 meter antenna

Not to start up an old topic... seeing there was never any pictures... But if the antenna was horizontal, with the tip pointing to the north, wouldnt this talk east and west? He was probably getting his rejection from the fact it was mounted horizontal. Not because of the dish. Thats the take I...

Western Ky, just out side Madisonville, to the south. I live out between to little towns called Dawons Springs, and Earlington. Which side you live on?

The only thing I can relate to with rejection is a moxon. Well worth the build! I will update my swr readings when its hung.

    M103c swr across 11 meters

I have it together, and I made it vertical. On the ground, reflector only about 2 ft off the ground, it has 1.7 or less across all of 11 meters. I will hang it this weekend and see what I get. Even on the ground, it could hear almost as well as the imax up 30ft. Man o man what rejection!

    M103c swr across 11 meters

Ive actually thought of that! After talking to most of them last night, they are running 4 and 5 element beams, flat side. The high channel guys are running about the same, mostly vertical. I think I've decided that if the 103 cant turn between the two, I will get two of the 103's point one...

    M103c swr across 11 meters

I seen that chart, but wasnt sure that was what I was actually looking at. So, what I'm seeing is, it will cover just about 40 channels, and not much more? Which is why I was asking. I was hoping for some real world input. I have a 102" whip on top of my suburban that is flat from 26.000 to 1.5...

And btw, I dont think they talk to each other, I'm not even sure they know of each other, they are in opposite directions of me.

Most of them are using 5 elements, vertical. Off hand I dont know the manufacturer. I can ask when its quieter. Here in Ky, we have some kind of, I assume, weather related static in the area. Been here for about a week. Dies down during the night.

    M103c swr across 11 meters

I have a M103c. I have not taken it out of the box. I'm reading its not very wide banded. I have some friends that talk on 26.210, and friends that talk on 27.835... Is this antenna going to be able to tune and talk at both ends of this band with acceptable swr? If not, I'll send it back for...
