I'm hope by the first of December I will have my Buddyhex up to 30 feet. I have an appointment with Cardio on the 23rd of this month. I hope they lift some of my restrictions so I can lift stuff over 5 pounds. I feel ok since three weeks ago from the quad bypass operation. doing a lot of walking...
The mount is made of some composite stuff I guess its strong?? I did not bend this out of round it slides in to the bottom of the hex antenna mount and has a clamp to fasten this into the bottom. I guess I can fasten it to the outside of standard mast size with worm gear clamps. Like hose clamps??
This is the photos of the Mount Buddy pole sent for mounting. I'm not sure how to fasten it to a standard mount. I call a standard mount I have that is 1 1/2 inch pipe. This is the piece I was sent to mount the Buddy Hex Yes it is hollow and not perfect round
I had a home built Hex beam for a couple years. I like the Hex beam configuration. worked fine for awhile then the Floriduh sun killed the fiberglass spreaders. I have new spreaders for my home built but the center support is now degraded also.
So I bought the buddy hex. I wish I could...
Another was S9 magazine which would issue a portable call. At that time I used to hike the trails and carried a two channel Fanon something burnt batteries like mad. I still have an RCA box the speaker mike is clipped on the front two channel thing. had one xtal internal and a external xtal...
I remember there were some 20W---- calls in New York on top of Smith Hill east of Utica New York was George Bathkey was voice of the Adirondacks I think his was 20W5872??? long time ago to remember. Mr. Weaver in Lake Pleasant was a 20W call.
Mine was KJI1400 this was around 1963? My...
Thank ya'll! I have to run my coax inside next, and tune the antenna. For the tripod mount I found at the hardware store some long screws 24 inches long with 5/16 hex head. I run those through the feet (two on each foot) into the ground that hold the tripod with antenna at 20 feet real good. I...
I'm a sucker for believing antenna designs. So I bought a DP200 whizz bang antenna that works from 7MHZ to 54MHZ. I haven't put it on a pole yet. Mine did not include the 40 meter matcher loop. I have enough stuff to make a loop if I had the dimensions. So folks could another follower of these...

I AM giving up on my ft-857D. Second display lasted 5 months. I have a new control head but afraid to use it for very long. I plug it into the remote cable set parameters and LOCK it. Then replace the head with the badly tiger striped head. I I want to change anything I swap the remote control...
The bamboo I think the author got the poles wet and bent them slowly to form the curve then painted them to hold the shape then installed the wires. My memory isn't like it used to be.
I'm not certain your location but if you want the one I have it's free local pick up. Not going to ship...
My first contact with HEX beam on 17 meter was to Germany with DK5DR Walter. and the antenna was just done tuning and at 11 feet on a tripod in the yard. Next were a few other qso's to Ireland, and Italy and turning by hand still at 11 feet.
An Alfa delta DXCC wire dipole. for now it works very well but I cant rotate it. the one I have has two traps on each side. The spreaders on the three wire spreaders slide some I used tie wraps but Floriduh sun ruined the black ones. I'm thinking about filling the spreaders full of foam to hold...
I gave up on my hex beam. Here in Floriduh the sun ruins every thing. Every year my spreaders would need to be replaced. Cars and trucks all have cracked dashes with pieces missing.
I really liked the way mine worked made many Europe contacts. swing it around in the afternoon every thing...
I had a tar heel HP100 A given to me because it didn't move anymore. I found the 4wire molex plug and socket corroded badly and the control wires corroded. I took the 8 cap screws out and pulled the base off and found lotsa excess wire coiled inside. So I cut off the molex and wires back about...
