I have a radio shack clr 2 copy (5/8 wave) and an antenna specialists mighty magnum 3 (1/2 wave )

what would be better for a low height install on my garage? 1/2 wave or 5/8 wave? If I remember reading correctly, a half wave will work better than a 5/8 at a low height because it has a higher take off angle to get the signal out? I have both antennas and want to put the best up.

would a wall wart 9v supply work on a d104 or would it be too noisy?

what about a cobra 29ltd? there is a coil to turn that will change the power correct? that is non SSB.

Can anyone tell me the adjustment for power on this radio? I want to turn it down and cant find any info on the powe,r just channel and audio mods. Thanks for any info guys.

any opinions which is the better radio 25 gtl or ltd? (old school ones, pre china in the case of the LTD)

I did some searching but really couldnt find an answer. i am putting up a new in the box, Mighty Magnum 3, half wave made by Antenna Specialists. I think i read it would be good to isolate imax's? what about an aluminum half wave that has radials? I know no one that i knew back in the 70's or...

i have a 29 ltd classic that someone gave me that has D11 cut AND TR 18 cut out. after some research i found out that people claim removing TR 18 further boosts the audio. i would never do this. and the radio has a bad sound to it. (go figure), does anyone know if just resoldering D11 back...

Just bought a NEW IN BOX Philippine 29 LTD from 1994! Cant wait to do a nice tune on this bad boy! Any suggestions for some mild mods?

running it on a pwr sup. i still get the 3-4 lb noise level. the anl/nb does quiet it but the meter reading does not go down.

maybe. but i wonder why i get the same s unit readings from people talking but just more noise level on the one radio.

I have 2 identical radios (87 GTL's) on receive i get the same signal from people but on one radio i get 1 s unit of noise and on the other i get 3-4. can anything be done to quiet the other one own?
