Voyager 33 CW radio - what can you tell me about it?

Update: for anyone else that runs into this snag, I found out how to change bands. 1. Turn the dimmer switch to off. The channel LED will change to n1, n2, n3, n4, etc. This is how to change the bands. 2. Use the channel changer to select the bands. 3. Once done turn the dimmer switch back to...

What was Uncle Jesse's Base Antenna?

That was the original Georgia house, yes. However as some may know, the DOH was filed in Georgia in late 1978 aka the first 5 episodes, then it was moved to Warner Brothers studios in Burbank California in 1979 for the rest of the run. You can tell the original location had an authentic feel to...

SONAR FS 2340 REFURBISHED IN 2016

Nice radio. I have one on my bench I need to get around to someday.

Cant find a radio repair person anywhere

Simple: CB is no longer as big as it once was, so less people needing radios to be repaired. Also because most radios now are not made to be repaired, they're made to be thrown away. The few repairmen we have left are probably backlogged for that reason; there are probably less repairmen than...

    New Superstar SS-158FB4 reincarnated

It might be an expensive radio, but remember the Connex 4300-300 and 4390-400....people pay some crazy money to get them now. Same for the Magnum S-9. I think I may get one of these. I question though what frequencies does it cover once converted, and what transistors are used in the amplifier...

Voyager 33 CW radio - what can you tell me about it?

I've circled the area where it appears there were once some jumpers, or caps or something. Not sure if that's how you set these up to talk and hear elsewhere than 28 MHz or what.

What was Uncle Jesse's Base Antenna?

The base station I remember at the Duke farm, was either a Zachary T or a Washington. I never did get to get a good look at it, but I know for certain it was one of those two. No idea though if it was the President version or the later Uniden version, but I'd guess the former.

    Wizard Highway Alert CB System

I've seen those a time or two. If you wanted to be a real jerk, you could whisper "I aint got no panties on" and set it to repeat it every 30 seconds. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Wonder how much he wants for it?

Voyager 33 CW radio - what can you tell me about it?

I picked this up today as part of a package deal along with some other radios. I don't plan to keep and am considering selling. While it works, I discovered it transmits from 26.515-26.955, or just below the 40 channel band. This radio doesn't offer the ability to flip between bands. In looking...

NMO mounts are like what you see on police cars. I recommend them.

Stupid things seen or heard at a CB shop

This didn't happen at a CB shop, but once sitting in a truck stop, I keyed up the mic and asked why anyone likes echo. One person replied "it makes my modulation go up" :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Farthest 11 meter DX contact and equipment used?

For me, it was from Missouri (me) to Italy (them) on 27.385 MHz (38 lower) we then tuned down to 27.380 and talked a bit to get away from the noise. I had (and still have) a Kenwood TS-2000 and I don't know what they had. The antenna was an Imax 2000.

    FURTHEST LOCAL NON-DX CONTACT?

For me, it was a Cobra 148 on AM only, on channel 19, no amp and into a 102 whip. Talked to a truck driver 14 miles. May not sound like much until you consider he was probably running some short 4 foot antennas. And there was some terrain between us.

    chinese made cobra cb radios?

The Chinese Cobras are "ok". I had one, a side mic 29 version from 1993. When I sold it, people went nuts over it. But anymore it seems the newer ones are mostly throw away radios, once the golden screwdriver has been in it, and there are plenty of those.
