Looking at one of these Variable power switches for a Cobra 148 GTL Malaysia. Anyone have any experience with one of these, or is there a better choice?
Thanks, Greg.

Those are pretty good points. Do you have a wiring diagram?Would this leave the Dynamike at the max setting?

I could draw it for you, but i need board nr you have, to find proper schematic.
Yes, dynamike on max setting or any setting you need. For stock mic does not matter, for preamplified one you can adjust output level inside mic.

by the way nomadradio i'll be waiting for you to post that info on the resistors i'm using the swr for variable power too. thanks and with the resistor does it work for a set dead key like 4 or it doesn't matter

Best option IMO is to use an existing switch like the CB/PA switch for a dual level power control.
both levels are adjustable from inside the radio, and really, how many different power levels do you actually use?
in my experience, people tend to use two different power levels most often.

and sp5it, isn't it Barbarism? LOL
