Only thing I'm hearing here on the east coast this afternoon is that buzz of mixed signals with a tossed in language I can't translate. Usually, nothing to work conditions.
I must have one of the few Cobra 200's that has worked great since day one. I've heard a lot of them went up in flames but guess I got one of the good ones, since never had an issue with it.
Cobra 148 GTL DX, didn't even know there as such a thing as an "export" radio until my uncle hooked me up with this radio. Funny, we both disabled the rogerbeep on the radio because we thought it would be a dead give away that it wasn't a standard 40 channel radio.
This virus is a nasty little bug. I work at hospital, (IT) so at least I'm away from the patient rooms but we have constant flow of tech's that do go out there so surprised I've managed to dodge the beast this long but sadly wife and youngest daughter came down with it this week. Still not...
My grandma used to put green beans, corn, onions and pepper in crock. She called it mixed pickles. She would toss a handful in a skillet with some bacon grease and serve it with supper. It's making my mouth water thinking about it.
Bought a single burner butane stove and a number of spare fuel tanks. Got tried of pumping up the old Coleman. Don't do much canning any more since don't have a garden, to many people have tamed to wildlife around here to the point they think your garden is just for them. If you're pickling...
Haven't heard anything here on either of the "suggested" calling channels 1 or 24. About all I've been able to catch on 26.805 is a couple kerchunks, just carrier, no one talking.
I always find it interesting how many times 10 meters suddenly is open on Field Day and just the day before you'd loose your voice calling CQ with not a single response.
I've never lived on the west coast but they sure seem to work the Australia and Japan stations plenty of times while my calls go unanswered. Maybe there's just more Europe stations with their antenna's aimed to the east.
Welcome to the radio hobby, that's how it starts listening. With me it was clear channel AM stations back when AM was still king and FM hadn't even become a thing for broadcasting.
I heard a couple stations here in VA around 12:00 12:30 today. They were having some trouble getting each other clarified in. Another station and I tried to contact either or both but they never heard me. Band seemed to close down right after that since I didn't hear anyone or anyone heard me...
Haven't heard much here on east coast other than the spanish guys that seems to be filled with ghost talkers. Did manage to get a coast to coast contacts on 17 mars, but really looking forward to 11 and 10 opening up.
