A terrible tragedy that happened there. My sister lives in San Angelo which had some flooding, but not like Kerrville. Our prayers go out to all, and God Bless.
I had a 5825B. It had some intermittent issues that could not be resolved although it had been to a few shops. The double board made it a little more difficult to repair. I think Mikes Radio had a video on it, or was it the earlier 5825.
I wish I had found someone to fix it as I liked the look...
This is the RF Sampler I built. I had a couple of chassis mount SO239 and an aluminum project box and BNC connector already. I just had to buy the torrid. Works well.

I like the Galaxy 959 and 2547, I like the RCI 2950-70's as well.
I agree on the IC-735 as far as an HF radio over my FT450 which doesn't seem to have as good of a tone on receive.

If you have a "Smart Meter" for your power meter, it could cause issues as well, it may be going south as they say.
Loose connections inside the breaker panel also may cause some arching and noise.
