After some time, Nomad's guide is still the one to stick to. Removing a leg of R44 and jumpering R174 gives that radio wayyyyy too much slide. Sure you can get yourself in between, but at that point you barely look at your Clarifier, it will change on ya it seems lol. No thanks...
Hello all,
I will get to making another post about my quick trip to Nevada, but for this moment, I really need some help on a Cobra 148 GTL clarifier unlock. I did follow the steps on the post from our very own Nomad, but when I do that, the TX/RX is so far off about a couple channels it...
Yes.. Them damn professional steering wheel holders is better. :D :D How else are they going to keep their feet outside the window and on the dashboard... :P

Glad to say my brother is a damn good truck driver. Yea he started in the early 2010s but still trucking to this day...
If anything I may do that on a TRC-465 radio that basically its channel LED is entirely shot. Tried cleaning the channel selector and any cold solder joints, but no luck.

This isn't quite a step-by-step on how to go about installing the LED itself, but just to show some of the pictures along the way when I replaced the LED in my Cobra 146 GTL. I used a computer chip socket and sized-trimmed it down to accommodate the area. This way if I ever decide to...
It wasn't until recently (probably this last year) where I got to make a contact on the Uppers for the first time in my life. I just didn't really know where or what frequencies most were hanging out at. Thats when I learned of the triple .555 USB to try and make DX contacts to QSY to a...
We are going to visit my side of the family next week in Nevada. Hope to be eating some good mexican food my mother cooks. Nothing like our own mother's cooking.
Sorry for his passing. It is hard when a good friend leaves this earth. It took me awhile to get back on the radio when my Elmer passed in 2022. I knew if I stopped talking on the radio he would probably come back to haunt me in my dreams to get back on the radio. As long as we remember then...
