I had a friend who wired a TUG9 D-104 for me for the M700 PRO or M710 and it sounded Terrible on both radios.I tried many different heads and all were terrible so everyone will not waste their time or money in the future.
There is a Tuning pot inside the radio that is adjustable so never trust the internal meter. A Dosey is not a good wattmeter but it's OK for just SWR readings.
I have owned the ICOM 746,746 PRO,756 PRO II, and 7600 prior to the 7700 so I find it Very Simple to operate.I really do Love Big Radios with lots of buttons and knobs so it’s the perfect radio short of the 7800 if I need more of them. It’s really a Fun radio to operate and I’m blessed that I...
So many parked on 50.125 calling for hours so it appears they don't understand the etiquette. You will not be popular when you do this. They obviously don't understand what Calling Frequency stands for? N0VRM is there now & he has been for about an hour or more? {:>(
I'll be listening for any New Grid Squares ONLY.I quit Contesting long ago & I Rarely even log a QSO unless it's New Grid or Entity & that's Very Rare as well. I find contesting as boring as Nets & FT8 & I'd rather have all of my teeth pulled without any pain killers being used.If you like it...
I’m a computer Idiot with my laptop. I posted the pictures with my phone. I was also Busy counting the (90) Buttons & knobs on the front of the ICOM 7700.YES it really has (90) of them. LOL
I don’t believe that Kenwood will be in the Amateur Radio business for much longer.I have a neighbor that has a TS-990 that is currently in NY for repairs and they have had it for over a month and he has not heard from them.He has had terrible service on the radio and it’s far from cheap.I’ll...
I would not take it apart. It's designed to stay together. My neighbor has a 55' crank up & we loaded it onto a trailer by hand (4 guys) & we brought it down Interstate 95 from Daytona Beach,Florida to Macclenny,Florida with no issues. It's a great tower & he has a Mosley PRO-67B & an M2 6M7JHV...
I just purchased an ICOM 7700 with the LDG M-7700 external meter from a friends Estate that became a SK on 3/31/23.I Sold my ICOM 7600 which I Loved very much & I purchased it New. I have had the 7700 for a little over a week & I must say it's a BEAST of a radio in appearance & on the air.I use...
If you cut the whip length to short you may also replace it with a Stainless steel welding rod that you can buy at some auto parts & hardware stores for pretty cheap. It will not have a small ball on top but they work very well.No shipping costs either. {:>)
I used a Hamstick 17 meter dipole mounted just below a Mosley TA-33 JR & it was Amazing how well it worked.I now have the TA-53M so I have around 8 dbd of gain & three elements on 10-20 meters & it's a great antenna for just a 14 ft boom but it does weigh 55 lbs. I use a Yaesu G-800SDX rotor & I...
