    Some guys RX is echoing

That would have to be. Sometimes that control is used for the DK when modded. Look at he RF power when you do it.

Is Channel 9 still the emergency channel?

What's to get? Seems pretty simple. TV is just a reflection of society.

    Diamonds or Squares (again)?

There are circular quads. Can't remember who makes 'em, Google might tell you.

when is an export really an export?

900$ new. That guy is always singing the praises of the 706. I think I have to get one. I've had luck with Icoms so far, it's time to see what all the hub bub is about. It better not suck KC, or you might lose your first fight LMAO :P

    2m beams quad vs yagi

I made a 6 element quad. Only wired the first four for the moment, had to see how it worked first, got impatient. So far, so good. The strong repeaters in my area are still strong no matter which way the beam is pointed. Most of the rejection seems to be from the side. A full scale signal...

    MURS

Get your NCT(No Code Technician) licence, and you can work repeaters and play with MURS. I hear nothing on the MURS channels around here. I might change that

"if"? LOL Lose the chip on your shoulder. I NEVER studied to pass my little tests. All my knowledge, except for RF exposure and band privileges, came from working 11M. Took a few practice tests on QRZ, never failed one, except Extra. That's a toughie. Lighten up, live can't be that bad :D

    RANGE: SSB vs AM

A tenfold increase is a bit much. Maybe four of five. 150W would get me all over on SSB, it took alot more to get out on AM. That's partially due to the nature of 11M AM. It's survival of the strong. SSB is a bit less competitive. You can hear more than one station at the same time, no...

    New Here, AM or SSB?

Tuning SSB isn't that hard with practice. When I used 11M, my rig had 23kc of slide. Still could drive and tune, no sweat. Put a bigger knob on it, it made it alot easier. Won't be much activity for a few years on DX. Take your time, find out what you like.

That's really a big loss. I hope you the best. Wish I could do more.

I'd guess C2 meant it would go unnoticed, just like the rest of the activity on 11M and the freeband. I hear RTTY sometimes above 27.405. Illegal, but who cares? C2 is OK in my book.

Aw jeeze. CW is a digital mode. Use it on 11M, see how many respond. No sense using a mode nobody will will understand. That makes someone dumb?

    Out the Box SSB

Forget exports, they suck. 148 GTL/Grant XL, better audio, better RX. One of the easiest to mod, Cobra 2000 is the same thing, but a base with counter.

OPEN CLARIFIER / SLIDERS / "SUPER DIODES"

Loadstone and QRN are right. When you unlock a clarifier, you lock the TX and RX together. Always worked with my Grant XL's/148's.
