    Another laugh courtesy of Ebay!!!

I don't see it being too out of line. It's in great condition, it's collectible. I might have laughed a bit before the last week when I just sold a dented Browning for parts on ebay for considerably more. It's worth what somebody is willing to pay...

What's it worth part III Golden Eagle

a cult following for these things, I may get lucky after all. I'm just not a fan of tubes, I've had my share of the things in the past, now I just want to press a button and go, but each to his own! Feel free to bid away however ;)

    My ham junk

The pvc is about 4" longer than the full extended wire, some 10lb fishing line is tied to the end of the wire, pops out the end of the pvc and is folded over and taped in place, I left enough fishing line so if I needed to pull back thru the pvc easily I could.

What's it worth part III Golden Eagle

That's my thought at this point...toss it on the bay and see what happens. Interesting design, but none I have any motivation to do anything with. There does seem to be an odd cult following, and well, I plugged it all in and nothing let the smoke out, so this is a plus.

What's it worth part III Golden Eagle

I know nothing about the background of this unit, it's going to be sold to go help fund a starter HF rig. What I do know. Browning Golden Eagle Mark IV, Receiver and transmitter, both units are well used, but not trashed. Transmitter has damage on top as you can see in pics, but it's not major...

    Buckmaster 8 Band OCF QUESTION

Cheapasses being a relative term, the majority of the people buying these antennas will not even put them up themselves. We're talking about a totally different demographic here. I would venture to say the majority of the people buying them do not even frequent a forum like this for info..QRZ...

    Buckmaster 8 Band OCF QUESTION

I think the main plus would be..the multi bands without a tuner, and being OCF for more mounting options. Not perfect for everything, of course there is a trade off. A simple wire dipole is a great antenna, my $6 wire dipole works as well on 10m as anything else I have used, but I can't switch...

    Buckmaster 8 Band OCF QUESTION

it's a good antenna, real good, however overpriced. The owner/engineer Jack is a good friend of my father, I have met him a few times, very nice, very knowledgeable, but caters to a crowd that isn't the cheapasses we are here.. After talking with him for a few minutes a couple months back, I...

    Name that antenna Part II

thanks guys. I will try that later Beetle, my old man picked it up along with a couple CB's from a yard sale. I just had it mounted to a pole in a tripod when I was trying to test it earlier, didn't think abiut the ground plane. I guess if nothing else I can trim the hook off and use it for 2m...

    Name that antenna Part II

two piece, knurled insert in the middle, loop on tip, no markings or numbers, was unable to get below a 2.0 swr@ 170 with the MFJ. Sturdy little thing ,just have no idea the application.
