Number 5 wouldn't be an issue if one of the wires had shielding ... but none of them had any . I wired it all up and left pins 5 , 8 , and 11 a no connect . There were 11 pins and 8 wires in the cord that came with it , and none of them were shielded . So I figured that was the only possible...
So I bought an SB-102 , which didn't come with an HP-23 power supply , or their connecting cord . I ordered an HP-23B power supply , and I also ordered the 11 pin connecting cord separately , because the power supply also didn't have the cord with it either .
Now the cord shows up unassembled ...
BJ radionut - Thanks for sharing that ad . I messaged W8QW about his power supply , and I haven't got a reply back from him yet . I also had another guy offer me a power supply and the speaker together . I replied to him yesterday , but I still haven't heard anything back from him yet either ...
I was afraid of that ... I mean , I was hoping it might be possible ... but I figured it probably needed to use that power supply . It's pretty obvious that I purchased an expensive paper weight/dust collector . That's all it's going to be for quite awhile . Because the only place I've found the...
I just bought a nice Heathkit SB-102 , and I can't wait to use it . But , at the moment it doesn't have a power supply with it , I do plan on finding the matching power supply/speaker for it . But in the mean time , is it possible to run this radio using a regular power supply ?
If so ...
I thought my amplified Gray Base would be a nice match up ... but when I put it on my tube radios , I was told that it sounded "Tinny". I mean "Maybe" the mic element in the mic is bad , but it sounded ok to me when it was on my Pearce Simpson Bengal.
I have a couple of vintage tube CB radio's here that I've talked about here on the forum before . They both have their stock mics , but I was wondering what mics would be the best to wire up , and use with them ? One is my Lafayette Comstat 23 , and the other one is my Kris 23 + . I know they...
I know this is an old topic from 2013 .... but I just bought a NOS RCI - 2950 from an old friend , it's never been used until now . The radio is immaculate , and still smelled brand new when I took it out of the box . (y)
I need to replace the 2SC1969 final in one of my radios and I've been told that the 2SC2312 can be a good replacement . I'm actually trying to find an original 2SC1969 , and someone offered me a 2SC1969P . So at the risk of looking stupid I'm going to ask ... does anyone know what the difference...
Hi everyone , it's no secret that I like to buy/collect older CB radios ... which drives my wife crazy . I usually buy older tube equipment , but this time around I was looking for a solid state Pearce Simpson . So I bought a Pearce Simpson Bengal , and it's in fairly nice condition cosmetically...
Oh ok .... I thought it had something to do with the Lafayette ... lol . I have the SAMS Photofact service manual for my Kris as well .
Thanks for the info guys ... I was hoping that there might be someone like Klondike Mike that sold the kits already put together. I guess I better dig those...
I had ordered a recap kit for a Cobra 2000 from Mike . But I wasn't sure if he had them for the older radios too ... now I know that he doesn't .
I already have the #12 issue of SAMS Photofact service manual ... and I have an account at Antique Electronic Supply .
What is in #45 that I'm...
I have a Lafayette Comstat 23 , which I've talked about before ... and a Kris 23+ . I want to do an Electrolytic Capacitor update to them both , but I have no idea where to find recap kits for older radios . So I was wondering if anyone here might have an idea on where I can locate recap kits...
So I fixed the RCA Co-Pilot 14T302 that I use in the mobile ... I have an Astatic D-104 M6B that I use with it . The Astatic mic is about 3 years old , with only a little use . Here about a week ago , I was talking with the wife on it ... and the mic just lost audio for no reason , and without...
