Congrats to Marconi / WDX-390 for winning the Dec 2014 Contest

I hope you're joking. I was. My comment was a dig at Mole since I beat him by one contact. Not to take anything away from Marconi. Relax...

Congrats to Marconi / WDX-390 for winning the Dec 2014 Contest

I see how it is... Marconi wins and it's balloons and confetti... A congratulations thread, even a header link across the site announcing the winner and inviting congratulations. "Marconi is the winner of the December WDX CB Club DX Contest! Please Congratulate him here!" Remember your post...

    son wants golf clubs

Golfsmith fitted my Adams set to my 6'3" frame. Best fitting set I've ever played. Too bad I blew up my elbow before I even got 10 rounds on them.

    Yaesu FT8800r

I've actually tried a few 2m/440 antennas and am very happy with my Comet CA-2X4SR. It's only 40" tall, tough as nails (it's taken some major whacks with no issues) and is very broad banded. In fact I've run a commercial VHF radio through it way up at 170Mhz with an SWR of just over 1.5:1...

    Yaesu FT8800r

I've had an 8800 in my truck for 3-4 years. It's a tough little radio. Probably the best feature it has for a mobile install is that the mic plugs in to the face plate itself, so in a remote install you don't have to string a mic cable through the vehicle to the driver's seat. The downsides...

    Fart!!

I have an Android app called "whoopee cushion" that has a timer. Select one of many sounds of gastric expulsion, set the timer and walk away. A real crowd pleaser.

Wouxun KG-UV8D Review: VHF/UHF HT with Crossband Repeat

So if you're done with the review, when can I expect to have that radio in my hands for further evaluation? :D Must have... You had to unlock it? I did on my "1", but my "6" was opened up right out of the box.

    Root Cause of Outage

The answer is in this thread --> http://www.worldwidedx.com/threads/what-crashed.177147/ What makes you ask? Did you foresee some kind of problem and have a solution?

    Fergusun poll

It truly amazes me to have watched them interview protesters and questioned them on FACTS like "if he was running away, why are all of the bullet entry wounds in the front of his body?". You get answers ranging from "he spun the bullets, just like in the matrix" (or what ever movie that was)...

    What Crashed?

No, it wasn't just you... I texted Mole because I couldn't figure it out. Of course the text "hung" and didn't go to his phone for 10+ hours, probably because I sent it as a screen shot of the error code. Texted him again at the end of the work day, he got that one, fed the squirrels and up...

    Studio Microphone Scissor Boom

Any good hardware store should have a selection of springs. You will probably find them with straight ends coming off the coil rather than the "loops" that are formed in your current springs. Just bend loops or hooks in them where needed and trim off the excess. The ones that I used were...

    Studio Microphone Scissor Boom

Does the boom have springs on it? I made mine from a four spring magnifier lamp boom and just changed out the two springs on the upper arm to a heavier wire gauge. Works like a charm.

    I got a new hobby

I'll tip one of the "scrapper" boys off to your post. Rob/KK6GUN is on a whole other level with airguns. Modified Crossmans, homebrews, etc... charged with scuba tanks. Power and range similar to a .22lr with no noise. You hear "click" and a prairie dog is doing cartwheels 100yds down range...

    I Hate This New Site!!!

The nav bar is "suppressed" when you're actually on a thread/post because the part of the Nav bar that you're not seeing has to do with the forum as a whole, not the thread you are reading. Hit your back button to return to the forum index or "new posts" page and you'll see the full nav bar again.
