Does anyone here have an ARB-704 amp relay or similar hooked to their first gen 2970? I guess I'm looking for the 8 to 12 Volt tap to fire that relay. Any help is muchly appreciated, thanks
Anyone here running a FTdx101D thats had the MARS mod done ? I have read now a few times that after the mod , the VC Tune does not work when out of band . Say , if on 60 meters out of the presets , does it still function or no ?
Thanks and 73
Thanks for the input . I wasnt able to edit my 1st post but did make the correction on my post # 12 . It's actually about 200 Hz off , not 20 . Someone was nice enough here to PM me and give me a hand with this :D
It depends on you and your hearing IMO. It drives me nuts just a hair off frequency. But others ( if you've ever listened to channel 38 LSB ) don't seem to have the same fussiness haha. Man, there are some bad bad off frequency examples on that channel.
I've done exactly this, quite a few times. All with wonderful success. It works well for those radios that are just a TINY bit off. It's not a recommended method by a long shot but does work. I'm trying to locate the right xtal trimmers in my old 2950 to do just this. I think I know ( lol )...
I know my Yaesu pretty well and it's about dead on with other amateur radio op's I talk to. I've done this a bunch of times with other CB radios that just need a minuscule nudge to get back on freq. But those, the 3 xtals were lined up and the trimmers right there, was easy peezey. I know...
Good day guys . I have a 1st gen 2950 that's a C hair off on LSB and USB , 20ish Hz or so ( been sitting around for a while ) . I used to just touch the xtal trimmers on the typical CB to 'nudge' them back on . I was looking at the service manual and inside the radio , it mentioned the 3...
I want an external PTT line to key a tube amplifier. I already have a ARB 704 Ameritron relay/buffer so would feed into that and that safely keys an amp.
Anyone ever done it? I'm referring to like what would be the aux PTT line like in the back of an amateur rig . Let's use the 2950 or Stryker 955 for examples . Anyone ever do this ?
Hello everyone , I'm looking for the plastic channel selector for my old Simba SSB CB , I'm just after the outer dial part as mine is pretty broken . Anyone have any parts laying around ? Thanks !!
