Still it bothers me that I dont understand the answers of like 6 questions out of pool of 702 questions... I dont just want the ticket, I want the knowledge that comes along with it
well I have been scoring consistent 90-96% on the practice tests. I have been studying in between calls at work... but for the life of me some of the math is still giving me problem, mostly phase angles and junk like that, I know most of the answers to the phase angle questions, but only...
well it may not matter, looks like you can not control CW using CAT, it will KEY the radio, but not produce a carrier, same thing that happens if you go into CW mode and key the MIC
Ok... So I have an 857d, and I would like to be able to operate computer controlled and decoded CW...

Fellas, this antenna has been retuned and is working great, I have made several contacts, many of them well over 1000 miles, it has been up on the stack for a few months now and was on the test pole for a few months before that

well it seems I have enough LMR400 to install in the oak tree as well...
so how do I decide if the tree creates more problems than the benefits of being around 20 feet higher?
I have a HAM IV that is not braking... it still offers some resistance, and the teeth looked good 6 months ago... but it is clearly not braking as I can grab the antenna and rotate it by hand...
NOTE: I can hear it when I hit the brake release button on the box
any ideas?
