Is there a adjustment for the am dead key carrier that a novice could do.?? looked on roger birds site but didnt see anything about just setting the dead key. its a stocker radio that doing about 23 watts pep on am and the carrier is set at 12 watts. id like to lower that a little.

tried that MACK.didnt work. took the antenna switch out of the mix and works like a charm.

ok, did some trial and error. just bought a new texas star dx500. took the amp out of line and the radios stopped this wierd carrier on ssb. drops right back to zero like it should. i run a alpha delta antenna switch backwards to run more radios. i had the amp set up where it comes out of the...

rob, tried the radios ob upper side band to see if it was like you said. same thing. it will modulate to about 22 watts then drop to about 10 watts till i let clean off the key. both of these stock radios got about a 9 watts dead key on am. ya, ill send them to doc before i start messin with stuff.

ok, i got 2 bone stock hr-2510s. only the channel expansion mod done.nothin else. when i talk on side band after i quit speaking (while still holding the mic key down.) the radio will hold a small carrier about 1/4 of the peak watts.???? wtf. if i let up on the mic key the meter drops to zero...

I bought a new dx500v to use as a base amp. do you all think a doc tuned hr-2510 doin 42 watts pep is to much drive for this amp.?? it is a stright 4 pill (2879).it will be operated on ssb mainly. also, what size wire would be good to use.?? i got about a 3 1/2 or 4 foot run to my 85 amp power...

I gave my son in law a 878dm i had aquired in a radio deal and he is useing it on a 2950dx. it sounds fantastic. i never would of guessed. best sounding mic hes had on there. it dont even sound like the same radio. although they are kinda plastic like i will give them a :thumbup:.

I used a icm (icom only) heil mic on a 756 pro 2 till i sold the radio. no pre amps or processors needed. got nothing but flowers on it. im going to try it on my 706mk2g when we get some conditions. ive heard the others you mention on the air to and all sound great.

I was under the impresion the 2510 didnt need the chip switch but im probably wrong. i know the chip switch allows you to do more things with the radio. you could put new covers on your 2600 and spiff it up. or you could put the chip in one of your 2510s and have 2 nice radios. this is why i got...
