    Anyone using WSPR

10 has been pretty bad lately. A few spots here and there but not really open much. I've been receiving on 20 and 30 and it seems to be picking up well.

    Anyone using WSPR

I think I will start using it more to see what is going on with 10 meters. That will allow me to figure out if I want to get on the radio in the evening. What has been interesting to me is even though the band has been pretty dead for the last couple of days, I've seen some propagation in the US...

    Anyone using WSPR

I just started using WSPR last night. By the time I got it up and running, the band had died but still was able to get some signal out and get noticed. I'll be running it today to see what kind of shape the band is in. Last night there was actually a good bit of traffic into the evening until...

Looking for ideas for an inexpensive mobile Ant.

What is County Hunters? And what kind of vehicle are you putting it on. I have a mount on top of my xterra, but I would have problems trying to run a 8' hamstick up there.

    Mobile radio decisions

I really wanted a V71A but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I don't "need" crossband, but it would be nice. I'm currently running an Icom 208H, dual band, single transmit, but I'm liking it so far.

    ICOM IC-706 MKIIG

I've got an IC-706MKIIG that I am looking to sell. It comes with the mic, power cord, mobile bracket, original box and manual as well as some extra literature from the original owner. There are also a couple of full size quick reference sheets as well as the small pocket size nifty guide. This...

    HT Cross band repeaters

Yes of course that is correct. You could have a length of coax to run up the tree or being that it is a HT and relatively light, the whole box could go up the tree and you could have a very short piece of coax to your antenna.

    HT Cross band repeaters

You could make one of these into a nice temporary repeater. Build a box with an external antenna and tie it into a high mah external battery and hoist into tree. Voila, campsite repeater to extend ht range.

    HT Cross band repeaters

This is interesting. I hadn't thought much about the crossbars repeat function on a ht. I'd like to see what that about

10/11M radio with detachable front panel

Very true and it shows. The radio is still very good. I actually think it works fantastic on 2 meters and HF SSB.

    Best program for baofeng handhelds

I used chirp with my UV-5R for the first programming and I have never been able to get it to work since. Could be the programming cable, but I've had nothing but trouble with trying to get it to program again. Luckily I put it most of the frequencies that were important to me on the first pass.

10/11M radio with detachable front panel

The 706 NB distorts strong signals barely and does little for the rest of the noise in my experience. The only way I can listen to AM CB is with the attenuator on which causes you to miss some signals.
