President Lincoln II+ V3 AM Choppy Squelch Issue

@Crawdad Thanks for the band info. I guess that the dealer did the diode add on to get the 11 meters on the radio enabled in the first place, so if the above fix works then all is good....

President Lincoln II+ V3 AM Choppy Squelch Issue

When I got the radio last week the 11 meters was on the radio. It was on the D band which showed up after the F band. I wanted to put it in "normal" sequence and that's when trouble perked its ugly head up.....

President Lincoln II+ V3 AM Choppy Squelch Issue

I purchased a Lincoln 2 + only last week. I wanted to get the bands to work in an a,b,c,d,e, etc sequence. I found the menus to be confusing and ended up not doing a reset but doing an initializing of the radio that put it back to the ham frequencies. I have to send it back to the dealer I got...

    Has the world gone crazy

At one stage late last year there was an S9 going a bidding on the bay and by the time I got there, the bids were up to 650$. I put bids on at 30$ a go and it kept going up. There were 5 other parties bidding against me. I kept bidding and soon the price had reached 850$. I pulled out at that...

    Best low cost intro beam

Thank- you for the explanation freecell. I had to read your post a few times and picture it in my mind to get an understanding of the working of a beam antenna. So when the manufacturers state the various power multiplications inherent in their divergent range of beam antennas, that in reality...

    Best low cost intro beam

How do beams multiply signal power. Some beams are 14 times multiple and others have bigger multiples, being bigger antennas, so how is it done?

    Best low cost intro beam

Mudfoot is the V Quad easy to tune for 27 MHz? Which is the driver/beam element? Is it a heavy antenna for one person to mount it on a pole or a mast?Is it the kind of antenna that could get one through a pile-up on air?

    Base Ground Mounted Verticals

Would a ground mounted 11 meter 1/4 wave antenna work as well? or would it have to be mast or pole mounted to achieve the same results or better?

    Yaesu FT-891, your thoughts please

You could if you were going to go portable use a Skyper type yagi beam wire antenna. They are according to the guys that make them the ideal choice for portable ops. Fishing poles and wire. Light enough for carrying around. Supposed to be as effective and on par with those dirty great beams you...

    More Curiosity

Good Morning Captain K. No I didn't do a retune. It didn't enter my mind to do that. I thought how it was funny that there was no signal on cw. I'll do a retune next time I hear it. There was a distinct rhythm in the message, like a one note musical piece. It might sound silly to say, but it was...

    More Curiosity

Good morning folks, its 00:28 hrs as of this posting. Got another question. At the moment I'm listening on 28.295.00 on USB and there is a Morse pattern active on the frequency. I don't know any of the code but from listening to it it seems to be a repetitive pattern. Its signal strength rises...
