mite agree bout wilson 1000 over k40 barely, but i,d take the k30 over the lil will any day..a s far as the serio,who wants to run around with a 6 foot mobile antenna unless you live in the desert with no trees n u never go to the bank n mcdonalds..
dudmuck..just tried calibrating with the power all the way up but no change at all with the swr,,still at a 2 unless i turn the power down..o, well ,back to the drawing board.
on channel 40 the swr is fairly flat even when i turn the variable power all the way up to 100 watts on the 2970n2 ..on channel 1 the swr is just a hair higher until i turn the variable power up,then the swr goes clear up to a 2..why does the extra power maske a difference on one channel and not...
Rob,, whats bizarre is i had the radio set at 10;30 n the mic 9;30 n it sounded good to me then i tried it radio 12;00 n mic just cracked open n a local told me it sounded better but both ways the meter showed 100 watt swing..
first i tried the mic gain on the radio at 10;30 n the mic gain on the microphone at 10;00 and it would swing bout 100 watts..then i tried the mic gain on the radio at 12;00 and the microphone at 9;00 and would swing to 100 watts..without actualy haveing to drag my dead a$$ out n drive across...
got a couple caps to put on the mobile for noise but i know nothing about them..thier 16v 10000pf..read somewhere that some of them have a hot n a cold and some dont..is anyone familar with the ones i have ? dont see any hot/neg marks on the caps..
stumbled on to rednecks radio room and signed up no problem at all,read a bunch of stuff and left for a few days and never even posted anything..went to post something today and the site said i was banned..WOW,,how can you get banned without ever posting anythin ? lol.
when i just key the mic i get a line on the tv screen on a certain channel but when i disconect the antenna and key the mic nothin happens..the radio is only 10 feet from the tv..whats up ? you,d think with the antenna off and this close to the tv there would be all kinda interference..
up date..called astron co. today and they told me its normal for the lites to dim as the lites are wired befor the regulation and or the transformer..he said its also normal for the bottom to get hot and the fan not to come on..he said the fan wont come on untill the heat sink by the meter gets...
