I'm sad to report that "Challenger", Dino Davila passed away. Dino will probably be familiar to many of you from his numerous YouTube videos. Dino did announce a while back that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.

Best distance I ever got out of a CB handheld is a few miles, four or five at best and that was under ideal conditions at elevation. For short range 1-2 miles should be adequate anything further is dependent upon terrain. The primary issue is the limitation of a compact antenna.

One of the shortcomings of the Uniden 880 is the lack of tuning points within the radio, the only one's that I recall are for the squelch control, weather alert and meter functions.
