222DBFL is correct the screen needs to be 100 percent free of dust or it will show. I had to re-do mine a couple of times because of this. But patience is the key. And Keep it wet while sliding into place or it will stick.
it looks like you bought a 3 pack. don't be discouraged if your first try is a failure. Just peel it off and start fresh. You should have enough to do six screens IF it's the universal pack like I bought. the package is different than the one I used but its been a while ago that I bought mine...
I used hamtestonline and it's an excellent online study coarse. I studied for three weeks and passed with no problem. They do charge 24 bucks though for a two year subscription but that's no biggie compared to what you get out of it which includes a great deal of knowledge as well as your ham...
I bought a scanner that was listed as barely used excellent condition. I got it just for the extra battery packs because I already have the scanner. The scanner would be a bonus. Got it cheap at 40 bucks but here's the thing the scanner was not excellent condition the rubber antenna was broke at...
Ok guys I'm still comtemplating on the antenna location so bare with me. I've never had multiple antennas on a vehicle before and was unaware of the complications that can occur. Still trying to understand how the two antennas conflict with one another if only using one radio at a time. I can...
also if you were using one of those cheap truck stop meters you could have blowed the meter with the extra power of the amp assuming you put power in the meter. Some meters only are good for a hundred watts.and It's possible that no one is coming back to you today just out of luck. That happens...
Why not take it back to the shop who peaked and tuned it instead of buying new transistors. If there a legit problem just 1 day after the peak job he should fix it instead of investing more time and money.
You could rent scaffolding on a Friday take it back on Monday. It's not expensive and you'd have the weekend to put your antenna up. 6 foot bucks with 8 ends would get you 24 feet in the air. (4 levels) you could build it in just a few minutes. Just use outriggers so it won't be top heavy.
The antenna pictured (Larson NMO2/70B) is the one I want. I just want to be able to make it work on the roof of the car as my first option. I can go as far as 15 inches away from the other antenna and put in on the passenger side of the car. Will the 15 inches in distance be workable? If that...
I have the heater wires too on the rear. I'm open to all options within reason. I may end up getting a glass mount and put it on a side window. I didn't think they would perform very well but after reading some of the post I may give one a try. The club I'm in is 50 miles away and so is...
There is no physical contact between the coax end and the glass antenna. that's the thing I never liked about glass mounts. I'm sure they work fine like I said though I just don't like the break in connection.
found a dual band Larson glass mount for 109.00 but are they really that good? there's just something about the break in connection at the glass that I just never really liked.
I never did like the glass mount idea for anything except cell phones. that's just my own personal opinion. I hate those things with a passion for two way radio.
I'll look into that mount. I've seen a few mounted that way next to trunks and hoods. I don't want to do anything in rush judgement but if possible I really like hard mounting but I'll do the fender type mount if the roof option won't work. My car is hatchback so I'm limited on mounting ideas...
Thanks for the reply back..
My sirio is centered toward the rear and I was wanting to center the 2 meter but I could put the 2 meter on the left or right side of the vehicle which would put more distance between the two. Would that work? It would create a lot more distance. How efficient would...
I've got a mag mount 2 meter antenna but I want to go to a hard mount. Before I hard mount this antenna I want to make sure there won't be any conflicts with my other antenna being so close. I have a sirio 5000 10/11 meter hard mounted already and I would be hard mounting the 2 meter antenna...
Anderson Cooper shook her hand as well as her sons hand on national television for throwing rocks at cops. in the age of suspending journalist for doing the wrong thing "on air" one wonders why he is still on the air for promoting criminals to commit crimes. Anderson should get father of the...
