I got A3EAQ (Tonga)on 10 last nite and a few VK's I was shocked it was open past 01:00 Z, Been a while since the Tri-band had the dust blown off it for that band......
I would agree have a contest for ALL MEMBERS
Even though it is a multi band wire antenna, It may spark interest for the winning party to get his/her ticket for the other bands.
Ana,
Welcome to the forums.
You are on the right track By posting as you did, Meeting or even talking to people on the air will happen. Here on the WEST coast (AZ) for me I hear Spain in the mornings Until early afternoons mostly on 12-17 meters as I do not have a 11 meter antenna up right now...
I just got home from helping set up a R-7000 for a blind op.. When we was twisting the dial to hear something and it was QUIET ! We was like is this thing working? Was finaly able to make a 40 meter contact on a net. so we know it works there...
But yes the bands are DEAD
Well I dont think I fall no where near that with a KF7 call Matches 1- 10 (of 14914 ).
Are you going to be working 6/10/15? Ill try to get you on 10 or 15

Here is a "GM 6-71" blower
These where normally found on the old detroit diesels in the day and converted to gas engines. The 6-71's where on the 6 cyl engines and the 12-71's was on the v/8's
There maybe enough room under the hood of that CST to fit one with out cutting the hood.. I...
A 102 whip off the corner of the cab would be more period correct.

I am also looking to do some SSB on 2m. Might bring the Icom 706MIIG out of the mobile until i get back my TS790a from the shop and see what happens. Have a Mirage B3016 to help push the signal a bit and the stacked cushcraft 215's but vertical, so dont know how well yet for SSB:blink:
Well my Antenna farm is getting larger
Just added stacked Cushcraft 215's @ about 35 ft. (one real 215 and a home made copy of) So far so good for repeater work, Gained a couple DB on the local repeater for recieve that is like 45 miles away. Hit the Kingman repeater that is 130...
I agree with the others STAY AWAY FROM A G5RV.
I had one up for less than a week and ripped it down put a end feed wire
back up and was happy again until I got a 5 element tri-band up.
Still use the end feed for 80/160,
The G5RV is going on Fleebay and get what ever it brings...
