I agree I purchased a general lee from them and its still working great! cant say anything about them now or the work they do but the radios they did awile ago were decent.

Sparkys use to be a great shop to do business with I had purchased a cobra 25 ltd from there a a texas star 250 dx am from there and was very happy with both. Not sure whats going on at Sparkys now keep hearing a million different things.

I live in Victoria so would have to add in the cost of the ferry and that really wouldent be a savings. Also it would seem ssb would be the best way to go if cb is dead here.

that brokerage fee etc most certainly adds to the actual cost. I shipped a bunch of stuff from the US as well as ordered a few things from ll bean etc in the states and all that was added together

I had a inverted v one in my old apartment. It worked great with all my cbs use to talk skip all over the place.

yes but the cost to get there and back would end up about the same as paying the brokerage fees etc

I moved to Canada from the US about 2 years ago and have been having a hard time finding a CB shop that sells and does work on radios. Does anyone know of any shops in Canada that do good work? If I get radios etc shipped from the US the export fees kill you about 150.00 per radio etc.

re bazooka Iam using one of those antennas in my bed room have it in a upside down v works awsome! its the only antenna I have seen that actually works in a apartment. I have purchased a ton of other ones but this is the one that works as advertised

Sparkys I too in the past have done business at Sparkys he tuned a cobra 25 ltd and set it up for a amp for me. His work is great and he was nothing but nice to me on the phone and he did take the time to answer all my stupid questions. He put a extra us flag face plate on the radio for free...

Sparky has a great reputation as a reliable person and quite a few people I know have done business with him and value and trust his judgement. I believe it all in how the radio is set up and tuned. If you have a good tech work it over when you purchase it . It should be fine, Ill let...
