If you had to pick a 40 SSB CB BASE purely on asthetics what would you choose?

Well, the picture may have been the 23ch model, but the 40ch model looks just like it.

    Alinco DX 10

I just received my DX-10 and the frequency display is very dim (can see it well in daylight) vs. the very bright channel number. Is there some adjustment to turn the brightness up on the freq. display?

How did you get addicted to CB radio

First came the ch.14 walkie-talkies where I heard everyone on every channel talking (if they were close enough), then my Dad helped me build a cheap tube receiver shortwave receiver, which is where I learned how to solder. The guys on the 27mhz band were loud, and being a stupid kid, at times it...

How about a "DX-DAY" for forum members

When NY is coming into the SE Texas area I'll hear a couple guys on 383... If it's the same guys, I've listened to them for years on 305 (ssb)

How about a "DX-DAY" for forum members

Good question! I have an old 23 channel SSB radio on 16lsb (almost 24/7). Usually I get some traffic from across the border (get a lot of that living in the lower end of Texas), but I would love to make some english speaking contacts on 16 one of these days. Many times I fall victim to the "XYL...

    President George II

Looks nice (and similar to another radio), but I sure wish these "10 meter" radios would have a large frequency display and a small channel display (or at least have it switchable like the 20+ old Midland 79-290

    ts-440s ??

If it's an estate sale that you're driving to, bring along a power supply, coax jumper, meter, and a dummy load if possible. Even w/o everything else, hooking it up to a power supply will let you know if it powers up, are there dots on the display, and do the other controls seem to do what...

    need help with frequency

As crystals age they can change from the frequency they were cut for, usually not a lot but enough to account for the difference between a digital radio vs. a radio made in the 70's, if that's what you're asking about (if I read it correctly). Also, if I recall correctly, there were even...

    Silent key N6NHG, Kevin

Wow! Perhaps the saddest part of his passing is that most people under 35 have never heard of him.

What radio related products are you buying on Amazon?

Just about everything and anything. It gets here faster than most other places could, however, if I was looking at a specific radio and it was $10 less than other places on the web (with a brick'n mortar store), I'd ignore the $10 and buy it from one of the smaller shops.

Wiring a 4-wire Turner +2 to a GE Super Base 4 pin socket...

The 6 wire (CS-1) was mostly for Johnson radios and a couple others. Is this the only mic you own? If you have one wired for a Uniden/Cobra or Midland (all 4 pin mics), try 'em - you might get lucky.

    Icom ic-761/765/751a

I had a 751a transceiver and it was great! Excellent receiver and great audio. It even sounded decent on AM (not great, but decent), but it really shined on sideband xmit audio.
