Hey Rob you might appreciate this.. the guy that sent me the cp1 also sent a 47k resistor. Said for better performance use in series with yellow lead. At first I didn't use it and the comp did not impress me. Looked horrible on scope. I added the resistor, cleaned it up on the scope big time

O yea let me mention. This bird meter has no peak reader. Only one hundred watt slug.

Here's what I did. Put radio in usb. 1kz tone at and tweaked coils to max wattage. I noticed a little distortion on scope so a backed off on first coil. Made sure to bias at 3.5v and used vr 17 to set tp7 to 12.5 v. Sound right?

Hi, I've been looking at schematics from all of rangers radios including the 959, and every model uses a 220pf cap as a coupling cap from the pre driver to the first mosfet. My radio has a100pf cap.. why is this? Is this different from radio to radio? What happens if I raise this value?

Problem solved. I don't understand why.. but when I changed q17 to 2sc1674 the problem arose..the schematic calls for that transistor but it's a different one. Maybe different pin? Meter works, receive sounds great
