    I use scowrer pads like you use to wash up your pots and pans. It works a treat to bring alloy back to a shine before it is welded etc. if you use a fine pad it will not score the alloy

    Simplex and repeaters

    If the repeater is transmitting a sub tone (ctcss) then program your channel for rx ctcss and then your squelch will only open for that repeater unless the simplex station transmits that same ctcss. I hope my rambelings make sence

    Hey Ghutch I dont know if the yeticom is better however I REALLY do like its style and features. I have not herd a bad thing yet about them. As for the filter band width I can not remember however if it is not listed on the yeticom web site then I'm sure that Dave can chime in here and answer...
