    The frame has a thicker metal/mass, The exterior sheet metal is not grounded to the frame properly in most vehicles.

    Thats over kill for a 1500 watt amp, can your vehicle CPU handle a different alternator like a 300 amp?

    Try grounding it to the frame sometimes car/truck makers have rubber washers that make it difficult to get a good ground on the exterior part of the vehicle.

    I would not use a 2000 GTL for a mobile, way too big and they are not designed for the rough roads of Houston. :wink:

    The 2000 GTL has a 13.8 volt input if I remember correctly.

    Here's what I did, I bought a Cobra HG 500 with talk back and disassemble it, and installed the talkback circuit board inside a speaker similar to switch kit's the only soldering that is done is to the better speaker.
