I am not a ham but I was wondering what is the most popular ham band or bands. In other words where would you have the best chance of making contact to someone. I may take my test in the future but I don't know yet.
You have a 10 meter export mobile rig. It should cover am/fm/ssb and cw modes. It is also all most idenical to the rci 2950. On ssb on will produce around 25 watts. i have never owned one but this should be a great radio. The next step is going to be to get a good antenna such as the wilson...
I took a cobra hand mic apart and took the guts out of it and put in it. Just got a report saying it sounds great. How I managed to patch it together and make it sound good i will never know.
The best way to do it is have a "mountian line". I use ladder wire and nail it to trees up the hill you use coils which are coax wrapped up to even out the singnal at each side. I really don't now a lot about this because my friend help hook it all up. I know a lot about mountians because I live...
my friend has one from back in the day. he is starting to talk on the cb again and wants to hook it back up. the only problem is he can't remember how to tune it. Can someone give me direction for tuning it.
I just got a cobra 29 sound tracker. The lights around the knobs and switches are out and i can't find a bulb/bulbs. Does any one now where they are at.
If your money is tight the kl203 will get the job done. As far as talking 70 miles that probably won't happen but a general rule is get as high up as possible. I live in the hills of WV so i know what its like.
I am currently running about 50 watts how many watts would i have to increase to notice a difference. I know there is something about doubleing or tripleing but i can't remember which.
I made my first contact tonight. I have talked local 50- 75 miles but never this far. good conditions finally got here. It wasn't anything special. I am in central wv and i talked to missouri barefoot. I am using a galaxy 2547 base with a maco 5/8 antenna.
