just placed my order on a new radio :)

A lot will pair but not everyone will. What kin do you have? You can search bluetooth on the site here as there many posts of what has worked or not. I have both the Yaesu BH-A2 Mono headset and also a Plantronics Voyager Pro. I use the Voyager most. Sorry I can't be more help.

just placed my order on a new radio :)

Preference and mounting location. I have the internal (FGPS-1) and am happy with it. I can always get a GPS lock within 60-90 seconds. I have the Voice Guide unit (FVS-2) and the Bluetooth unit (BU-1) installed as well. I find that I don't use the FVS-2 much. It only will record 5 minutes...

just placed my order on a new radio :)

You will have to fabricate a mount yourself. There aren't many ideas out there other than a persons own ingenuity. I have a similar predicament. I want to mount the face to the front of my dash. In my case I am going to make up a simple offset bracket and bolt it into place. It will look...

    New Ham Radio Deluxe 5.1

Well a new twist. I just looked at HRD's site and they are now offering paid support for version 5.1 with a free upgrade for version 6.0 for $59.95. That makes me go Hummm. It looks as they are definitely going to charge for version 6.0.:scared: If they want $60 for it I'm not...

Kenwood's recommended APRS software: Will it work with 64 bit OS

I have Ui-view, APRSIS32 and AGWTracker with AGWPE running on my Windows 7 64bit laptop and they work fine. Of the three programs I prefer AGWTracker because I can use my own custom map tiles similar to UI-View. AWGTracker is newer and has better options than UI-View IMHO. Just my 2 cents.

HT or Mobile for Newbie's first radio

My first radio was the VX-8DR and is a great HT but I upgraded to a FTM-350 in 5 months. Their both awesome radios but I suggest going with a mobile and PS first. You will make more use with it as a base or in your vehicle. While I still use my HT regularly I use my mobile daily. As for...

    another new person needing help

    Yaesu VX-8GR vs. Kenwood TH-D72

Im have to agree with Snakyjake. The SAR team that I am on will use APRS occasionaly and only if the responding members have the capibility (APRS equiped radios). There are not that many search's that happen with that ability. It is a great asset for the search manager and communication...

    3 yaesu ftm models?

FTM-350A and FTM-350AR both can do 220. They are the same unit. The only difference is that the AR has the latest firmware installed and a different head mount. The A model requires the user to update the firmware.:)

    New Ham Radio Deluxe 5.1

I just thought I would say a short bit about HRD 5.1. I have tried it out after the update and as far as I can tell is that it offers a bunch of fixes. I haven't seen any new features but I have only looked at it twice. HRD 5.1 is free but it looks as though 6.0 may have a small fee. We will...

    VX-6r vs VX-8gr

Out of band refers to transmit only. These radios are analog so they can't listen to digital or trunked signals. You can basicly receive 108 MHz - 999.90 MHZ (Cell Blocked) for the VX-8GR and 0.5 MHZ - 999.90 MHZ (cell blocked) for the VX-6R.

    VX-6r vs VX-8gr

Both radios will recieve the frequencies that you want without having to do the mod. The mod is used to open the radio to be able to transmit out of the ham band. Keep in mind that you must adhear to the rules about ham frequencies and the repercussions of transmitting out of the ham band. I...

    External Speaker recommendations

I was wondering if people could please recommend some good external speakers for my FTM-350 that I have in my van? I want something that sounds good, has enough volume to be heard while the window is down and not too expensive. I have already listened to a pair of Yaesu MLS-200's and they...

    FTM-350R vs TM-D710A: Which Should I Get?

I have a FTM-350 as well and it does work with Ui-view. You just need the cable and it works. I have used many times in the van. Here is the link to the thread. http://www.worldwidedx.com/vhf-uhf-bands-vhf-uhf-rigs/81441-ftm-350-communications-ui-view.html
